chicago, in a nutshell
"you learn that the worst reason to stay somewhere is because you like the weather"
-kara vanderbijl, different winters
with the temperatures dropping below freezing, the windchill in the negative scale, and snow being blowed for miles, i was sure winter was here. and i am glad i have a boyfriend to stay in bed with on a sunday afternoon, lentils to eat, and a pair of sorel boots that keep my feet toasty. in the morning, i look around and everyone is wearing their heavy coats, gloves, scarves, grimaces. we are all going through this. and it makes me feel like i am part of a community, of something bigger than just me waiting for the train in the cold. chicago, you are the place i want to be in for a long time.
Dude, you were right. That piece by Kara Vanderbijl was really moving. Ugh, this 'Maybe I'm going to move next year for Grad School' thing is kind of starting to BLOW. I don't want to leave you, Chicago!!
